In the course of its existence, Evektor became a leading development and design center in the aircraft industry of the Czech Republic and is also considered to be a reliable partner in the area of development of cars and their parts and components.
Development in the automotive industry
In the area of automotive industry we cooperate especially with Skoda Auto a.s. and other brands from Volkswagen Group. Our development engineers participate in development of car interiors and car bodies. The team of highly skilled designers work directly in the development center of Skoda Auto and other engineers are located in our branch in Mladá Boleslav. A very good quality of our products is best proved by successful cooperation with Audi and BMW car makers which includes development of forming tools for important car body parts, such as fenders, hood and car body side panels..
Development in the aircraft industry
Aircraft industry is a holder of modern technologies and applies new design approaches. Since 1991 our company has been participating in development of each major aircraft in the Czech Republic. We have been involved in the development projects of the L159 ALCA and the Ae270 aircraft for Aero Vodochody. Since 1996 we have been developing own aircraft: the EV-97 Eurostar (a two-seat airplane, over 1 000 aircraft sold till now) and the SporStar (designed for the US market, about 150 aircraft sold till now). Another logical step was initiation of development of the Cobra, a four-seat single engine airplane, in close cooperation with the Aircraft Institute of Brno VUT. At present, the main Evektor´s activities in the aircraft industry include the development of the EV-55 Outback, a multipurpose twin engine airplane designed for transportation of up to 9 passengers or 1 800 kg cargo. The development of this airplane, which is to a great extent revolutionary one, is being made in cooperation with companies grouped in the Association of Aircraft Manufacturers of the Czech Republic. The EV-55 Outback development has no parallel in the Czech Republic in the last 20 years with respect to its technical and technological complexity. The proof of it is a significant financial help at the EV-55 development which was provided to Evektor by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic in the form of grant.
Technical background
A modern development and design company cannot exist without advanced design and computation tools. And the same holds true for Evektor. At the beginning of 1990s practically all development was made in 2D environment, largely in AutoCad and computation tools represented enormous investments, both in own programs and particularly in computation equipment (the software was running mostly in the UNIX operating system). At present the entire development in Evektor is performed by advanced 3D systems. We use products from PTC (Pro/Engineer) and Dassault Systems (CATIA V5 and SmarTeam). Thanks to these sophisticated tools we are able to reduce times needed for actual development of a product to the necessary minimum at a significant reduction of inaccuracies. If desired, we apply the method of rapid prototyping which enables to produce a sample or even a prototype part in a short time (thanks to 3D printing technology) which can be used directly on the machine for verification of its functionality.
