One of the main activities of Evektor is the development of aircraft and their parts. Our team of development engineers is composed of highly skilled designers, working in this field dozens of years, and also young graduated engineers. In the course of our existence we have developed a number of own airplanes (EuroStar, SportStar, Cobra and EV-55 Outback) and cooperated on other important projects with Czech as well as foreign companies. Evektor is a holder of the Authorization for Design of Small Aircraft (issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Czech Republic) and the European Design Organization Approval according to EASA Part 21 Section A, Subpart J. Thus we can guarantee the high quality of our development services to our customers.

Design and development of airframes

The development of airframes is a complex activity requiring many-year experience and also an innovative approach. Evektor has experience with the development of airframes for small two-seat airplanes and also for airplanes of Boeing 747 size.

• Complete airframe development, including its optimization:
• Development of individual airframe parts – i.e. fuselage, wing, tail units, etc.
• We specialize in the development of steel structures, but we also have experience with the development of composite parts, such as doors, fairings, engine or landing gear nacelles.
• The development is made completely in 3D environment, including virtual prototype creation.
• The airframe development can be followed by design of manufacturing and mounting jigs or interior design, including design of interior panels and interior equipment.

Development and design of aircraft systems

The airframe development is followed by development of systems and other equipment. Evektor belongs among those leading companies which are able to carry out the complex design of all important aircraft systems.

• The design of systems is made in accordance with aircraft construction and operation regulations. We specialize especially in the development of aircraft control, fuel system, hydraulic system, landing gear installation, etc.
• All development is made in 3D environment, including investigation and elimination of eventual collisions.
• A part of development can be prototype parts creation by rapid prototyping method.

Power unit installations

Installation or modifications of the power unit installation belong among critical activities during aircraft design. Evektor has long experience with installations of power units for general aviation aircraft.

• We carry out installations of piston and turboprop engines for single-engine and multi-engine aircraft.
• A part of installation is a modification of the fuel system and engine cowling design.
• Service can include flight tests and installation approval.

Avionics installations and design of electrical systems

Installation of instruments in the area behind the instrument panel and electrical installation in the pilot cockpit.

Thanks to our engineers´ experience and abilities, Evektor is able – as one of few in the Czech Republic – to offer qualified installation of avionics and development of aircraft electrical systems. The whole development process runs in Pro/ENGINEER environment with the use of modules pro/CABLING, pro/DIAGRAM and pro/HARNESS. By using these software tools we can quickly and flexibly react to customer’s requirements.

In the area of aircraft electrical system development we particularly do the following activities:

• Design of source architecture of electrical systems
• Design of electrical cable harnesses including drawing documentation
• Installation of avionics according to customer’s requirements and aircraft regulations, including design of wiring diagrams and cable harnesses
• Elaboration of the documentation necessary for certification tests of avionics
• Consultations and analyses in the area of electromagnetic compatibility and protection from the secondary effects of lightning – more information

Certification and aircraft tests

The certified flight test department performs flight development and certification tests.

Evektor does the entire aircraft development whose part is ensurance of certification process which is completed by certificate gaining. The Airworthiness Department ensures communication with the main aviation authorities: CAA of the Czech Republic, FAA for the USA or EASA for European Union.

We ensure the following services:

• Gaining the certificate in the category of small aircraft (MTOW up to 5 700 kg)
• Complete ensurance of approval of installations and modifications
• Elaboration of certification programs for new or modified aircraft
• Consulting services concerning acquirement of certificates for new aircraft parts or equipment
• Consulting services in the area of application of construction and operation regulations (FAR, JAR, EASA, national aircraft regulations)
