Evektor appoints Gerd Berchtold as new CEO

It is with great pleasure we announce that Evektor has appointed Dr. Gerd Berchtold as its new CEO. His main role will be to position the Evektor group for further growth and development, successful certification of the EV-55 Outback, launch of serial production and sales on global markets.

Dr. Berchtold joins the Evektor team from his 4 year position of COO at Grob Aircraft. Prior to this he experienced success as the CEO at Diamond Aircraft, where he was responsible for design, production and customer support. His earlier career in the aerospace industry involved the vice-presidency of engineering at MBB, EADS Military and DASA Military with responsibility for Eurofighter center fuselage and all Airbus products made in Bavaria, Germany. He was also responsible for the production of commercial aircraft sections in the Airbus plant in Augsburg for seven years.

Dr. Berchtold is undoubtedly passionate about general aviation. He is an active pilot holding all licenses from the glider to the helicopter. He has also privately built several experimental aircraft.
